This project expanded PHFA’s headquarters by nearly 40,000 square feet. The addition and renovation are designed to Passive House, and LEED Platinum sustainability standards—a first for a corporate building in the United States.
The new terminal is a very contemporary and energy efficient building.
This project was a community focused campus and to not look like a typical municipal building or a small post office.
The new 2 story addition tripled the headquarters’ size, expanding services provided to all the Commonwealth’s Counties.
This new 30,150 gsf facility will enable PennDOT to better perform their services for the Carbon County Community such as road surface repairs and treatment, winter operations, vegetation management, signing, as well as other services.
PennDOT had undergone several significant reorganizations in recent years in response to changing program needs.
The original project was just for the Roof Replacement. After involvement in the project, we discovered there were additional monies earmarked for the Department of Agriculture for interior renovations due to their roof failure.
Murray Associates analyzed and proposed design solutions that would resolve the issues and enhance the building.
A new Security Kiosk was introduced, and the existing main entrance vestibule doors and sidelights were replaced.
