The Second Floor Cath Lab expansion began with a challenging addition above a fully operational Emergency Department. All services and utilities to the Emergency Department had to remain uninterrupted throughout the duration of the project.

The new 23,588 gsf Cath Lab offers 24 private patient rooms observed by 3 centrally located nurse stations. Patients requiring less invasive cardiac procedures recover in one of the 6 private patient rooms with recliner chairs in the Radial Lounge Suite. The 2 existing EP labs were replaced in their entirety in a new location in the Cath Suite that previously housed the 15 cubicle curtained patient bays. The existing EP labs remained fully operational until the new EP labs were complete.

The Third-Floor expansion, also developed by Murray Associates, included a new (CTICU) for recovery of cardiac patients after surgery.
