January 20, 2018 – Murray Associates Architects, P. C. was featured in the December 2017 College Planning & Management Education Design’s Spaces4Learning Showcase for providing the best possible learning environment for students.
Wilson College’s John Stewart Memorial Library and Lenfest Learning Commons project received a Project of Distinction award. The project also received the 2017 Citation Award for Excellence in Design from the AIA of Central PA.
Benedict Dubbs, Firm Principal, was very happy that the project has won another award. “We are extremely proud of the project and that the Library is the new Academic Hub of the Campus”. The original 1923 library was restored and renovated while the 1960’s Annex was razed for a new Learning Commons that reflects the historic campus vernacular.
The Judges’ Comments are as follows: “The exterior of this building is lovely. They did a nice job of blending the new building with the historic structure and use of the exterior wall of an original library as an interior passage.
