September 6, 2018 – A larger facility was needed due to the Salvation Army of Harrisburg Capital City Region’s existing facilities were no longer meeting the current and emerging needs of the children and families it served. Murray Associates Architects, P. C. was honored to be selected by the non-profit organization to design their new Center to expand outreach with program partners, including schools, churches and community groups.

The new Community and Worship Center was designed with the latest trends using private, collaborative and flex spaces, passive and active security. The new mixed-use facility will offer: a reception area, administrative offices, multi-purpose rooms, a Chapel (also mixed use), counseling areas, classrooms, a gymnasium, a daily breakfast serving kitchen/dining area, an educational kitchen, a Choice Pantry, heated garage, parking lot, outdoor recreation area and garden, and a warehouse.
