The entrance into the building is at its upper level, from which it descends down the hillside to the level of the main stack area. An older 14,210 square foot structure was incorporated into the new 40,415 square foot addition. The roof of the main stack area is framed by laminated wood beams over 100 feet long, sloping to a north-facing clerestory.

The Library has 300,000 volumes and seating for 582 people. The main level has stacks, a reference area, two seminar rooms, the circulation desk and offices. The lower level contains the major stack and reading area, an archives room, an audio-visual room and additional study areas. Murray Associates Architects has designed almost all of the buildings at the College over the past four decades.
