Harrisburg, PA
333 Market Street was a new 22-story building constructed in downtown Harrisburg in 1977 and Murray’s 1,226th project. At that time, this was the tallest building between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. It had state-of-the-art life safety systems, precisely engineered acoustical separations between workstations in an open environment, a second level walkway system, less than 2 watts/square foot for lighting, and a solar design of fenestration.
The building was and remains occupied by the PA Department of Education and a variety of other tenants. A two-level shopping arcade fronting on Market Street, a large TV Studio, a data processing facility, employee cafeterias, and a conference and meeting center was also housed in the high-rise with a 1070-car triple helix precast parking garage that connects to the building with a second level bridge.
