May 2, 2019, the Mid Atlantic Chapter of Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, PCI, taped a conversation about “How Precast Builds” and its importance in the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA’s) expansion project. Benedict Dubbs, Principal of Murray Associates Architects, PC,  and Jamie Sweigart, Regional Sales Manager of The High Concrete Group discussed how and why precast concrete was a vital material in the expansion project, which is currently in construction.  Items discussed include the materials’ high insulative qualities, the design features and how Precast Concrete is an excellent choice in all Passive House designed buildings.

Murray Associates Architects, P.C. is the Architect of Record for the PHFA Project which incorporates a historical retrofit and an 8-story new tower which were designed for LEED Platinum and Passive House certifications.  This expansion is a “One-of-a-kind” project in the United States.
