May 27, 2020. The Harrisburg Regional Chamber hosted multiple episodes on COVID-19. The third episode dealt with the Post-COVID Workspace. Issues discussed included what does the Post-COVID work place look like. What health considerations are at the forefront of planning employees to return and how to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19. Retrofitting current spaces to maintain social distancing and what actions are most important to take now were also covered.
UPMC Pinnacle’s Dr. John Goldman of Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, and Kim Rivera the System Director of Performance Improvement, first explained why these issues are so important. Benedict Dubbs gave multiple suggestions on how to begin the process of creating healthy environments for employees to safely return to the workplace. Most of the suggestions were not expensive for the owners to do, such as dedicating one stair for “up” traffic and another for “down” traffic. Communication, proper signage and having a collaborative dialog with the facility’s property management team were also discussed.
