The new terminal is a very contemporary and energy efficient building.  It provides 29,537 gsf of modern conveniences such as a passenger loading bridge for efficient circulation, especially in inclement weather, updated passenger processing and security systems.  Some other new features include a passenger baggage carousel, seating for 180 passengers in the Transportations Safety Administration’s “Secure Waiting Area” for outbound passengers and comfort facilities.  Tenants include a full-service travel agency, a car rental service and a “Grab and Go” food service in the lobby area.

The state-of-the-art terminal replaced the original structure that was servicing the community since 1948 without interrupting its operation and service to the community.  Murray Associates was selected to design a new terminal facility to recruit additional airlines and efficiently process increased passenger traffic through the building.  All Photos © 2019 Don Pearse Photographers, Inc.

The project was recognized by the AIA Pennsylvania Central Region Chapter’s 2020 Excellence in Design Awards by receiving the Excellence in Design – Merit  Award and the Members Choice Award. Member’s from the chapter have the opportunity to vote for any project outside of their firm. Eight projects were submitted to the member’s choice award this year. We are extremely honored to be honored by our peers with this award.
