The new replacement terminal for the Williamsport Municipal Airport Authority was selected as a “The Best Non-Profit Project”.  The design and materials reflect Williamsport’s signature history of its logging industry and blue tiled flooring represents the Susquehanna River.  The pallet is limited to high performance glass and stone. An exposed steel super-structure allowing controlled natural light to bathe the interiors while a clearstory saw-tooth roof provides an ever-changing rhythm of multi-height spaces. The project was a firm favorite as it is a unique contemporary building designed to highlight Lycoming County’s past for thousands of people to experience as they arrive and depart.

The Corporate Headquarters Renovation & Expansion for Benchmark Construction was selected as a “The Best Interior Architecture” Project. Benchmark restructured its operations to reflect the markets they serve. Murray’s created an architectural response to support that structure, reflecting how they work, communicate and collaborate. Every market sector now has areas for collaboration. Perimeter offices have large glass openings into the interior spaces while multiple glass enclosed conference rooms, kitchenettes and a lounge were introduced.  Controlled natural light fills the hallways and there is corporate branding throughout the entire building, further reinforcing Benchmark’s culture. The project is unique for Murray’s, as the addition utilized their previous warehouse space.   Designing a work environment for such a successful organization allowed us to create one-off design ideas that support Benchmark’s future goals.
