Carlisle Family YMCA, Carlisle, PA

A multiple phased project is transforming the YMCA, replacing outdated and aging spaces with fun, welcoming and energy-efficient program areas for all ages.  Since 1859, YMCA has been the heart of the community serving more than 10,000 people. Portions of their facility date to 1899, with all the problems that can come with an older building. Murray’s partnered with the YMCA and Mowery Construction to program and design the expanded facility to enable to better serve their growing community.

Phase I removes the 19th-century school building and squash/racquet ball courts for a two-story addition for new entrances, lobby, youth and meeting spaces plus a large new Wellness Center. Phase II consists of another two-story addition to house the new childcare center, multiple fitness studios and new administration offices. New locker rooms, interior renovations, and a large parking lot will be completed as the project progresses.
