United States Postal Service, Harrisburg, PA

The 600,00 gsf Facility is one of the largest mail sorting facilities in the United States Postal Service system. The steel frame building is faced with insulated precast concrete panels, and brick at the offices.  The offices include a retail post office, personnel support facilities, and general offices.

Located on a sixty acre suburban site near an interstate highway, the building has three office floors; as well as a mechanized workroom on two floors plus a mezzanine. There are 950 vehicle parking spaces.  The 137 dock spaces (including forty-four carrier vehicle spaces) are located at both workroom levels to take advantage of the slope of the site.  Mail is moved vertically by conveyors and on a driverless tractor ramp.
