In an effort to remain an industry leader and at the vanguard, Highmark made the strategic decision to enter the “retail delivery” marketplace: direct-to-customer. This represents a rather significant departure from traditional health insurance delivery models and practices. Murray Associates was asked by this longtime client to assist with the development of their prototype “stores.”

The new retail location was strategically located in high visibility location and is easily accessible by potential clients. We worked in conjunction with their brand consultant to develop décor that reinforced Highmark branding. The interior design focused on one-on-one contact with their customers. Large expanses of glass allow brand displays and visually engage potential customers 24/7.

Spaces equipped with discrete technology assist customers with health evaluations. Kiosks allow those customers to complete on-line questionnaires which determine which series of products best fits their needs. A glass enclosed seminar room provides a larger venue to accommodate 10-12 people for lectures, demonstrations, etc. All these instructional venues are focused on the Highmark brand and its value to both existing and potential new customers.

Our prototypical 3,200 s.f layout is designed to conform to the typical “sweet spot”  shell footprint offered by the Real Estate and Development Industry. This retail outlet also reflects the contemporary transformation that is occurring in today’s Health Insurance marketplace.
